Our manufacturing client near Belen, NM is seeking a Materials Manager to oversee all materials planning, inventory control, receiving, and supplier coordination at their heavy fabrication/welding/assembly/paint production facility. This high-impact leadership role plays a key part in keeping operations running smoothly while ensuring accountability in key metrics such as usage variances, scrap, and SOX compliance.What You'll Do
- Lead a team of materials professionals, including supervisors and admins
- Manage inventory accuracy for tower parts and oversee the cycle count program
- Coordinate inbound shipments, interplant moves, and red tag/non-compliant materials
- Handle shortage reports, slow-moving inventory, and negative on-hand materials
- Collaborate with Supply Chain to ensure materials are always available for production
- Lead semi-annual physical inventories and ensure all receiving processes follow protocol
- Provide weekly/monthly reporting (scrap, SOX, end-of-month transactions) for accounting
- Ensure all materials SOPs and documentation are followed and continuously improved
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
- 7+ years in a manufacturing environment; 3+ in a leadership role
- Strong command of Excel, BPCS or similar ERP systems, and materials processes
- Experience with SOX compliance, blueprints, and technical materials is a plus
- Strong communication and adaptability in a fast-paced, multi-shift environment
Work Environment
- On-site, full-time role with potential weekend OT
- Manufacturing plant and warehouse setting
- Some local travel may be required (company vehicle provided)
