Summary This position is primarily responsible for ensuring that direct ship supplies and inventory supplies are distributed in a timely manner throughout the Health System. This involves managing the supply flow of the storeroom inventory items by receiving stock from vendors, restocking the shelves, picking orders, delivering supplies, and maintaining a neat, clean, and orderly environment. Responsibilities (40%)* Unload and receive all incoming deliveries and document accurately. (30%)* Determines correct quantity of items to order for the storeroom inventory with a Suggested Purchase Order Report. (30%)* Tag all patient charge items; stock and non-stock. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Count supplies on Nursing units and restock daily. Fill all routine and emergency supply orders and delivery to specific departments. Data entry of all requisitions on a daily basis. Cycle count of inventory on a daily basis. Transport emergency supplies and equipment to and from other hospitals and satellite offices, Delivery of weekly supplies to Contract Physician Offices. Purchase supplies from local stores as needed. Put tag number on equipment as specified by Purchasing. Prepare packages and forms for UPS, Bio-Med, and MRMC-Midland shipments. In the performance of the regular job duties, it is appropriate for this position to have access to the supply room for the purpose of stocking. Perform other duties as assigned. Certifications and Licensures N/A Required Education Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent Experience: Education Specialization: GENSTUDY Essential: true Other Information EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND SKILLS: Good customer service skills required. Written, organizational and interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals and groups to interact with people at all levels to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner. Data entry experience preferred but not necessary. Prior work experience in a storeroom setting preferred. PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as, trauma, grief and death. Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position. Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description. Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device(s). Frequently required to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. May require frequent postural changes such as stooping, kneeling or crouching. Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material. Must follow MyMichigan Health bloodborne pathogen and TB testing as required. Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake. Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis. Physical Demand Level: Medium. Must be able to occasionally (0-33% of the workday) lift or carry 21-50 lbs., frequently 34-66% of the workday 20 lbs. and or Walk/Stand/Push/Pull of Arm/Leg controls and constantly (67-100% or the workday) 10 lbs.
