Description:

Experienced Materials Engineer with a focus on metallurgical processes and analysis related to aerospace applications.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for leading R&D materials engineering efforts on several complex projects for on time and on budget delivery

• Develop and ensure compliance with all project requirements

• Interact with senior management, other professionals, technicians, and support personnel to coordinate, recommend, and confer regarding technical activities and progress

• Maintain thorough documentation of project activities, including plans, designs, reports, and updates

• Ability to take a design from concept to production

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including program management, and mechanical, software and systems engineers, to ensure successful project execution

• Communicate clearly (written and oral) with senior management, design team, and customers

• Provide technical expertise and assistance to other engineers and support personnel

• Ensure that designs comply with relevant safety and industry regulations, and military standards

• Must wear appropriate PPE as needed and adhere to all safety standards

Required Qualifications:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen

• Materials Engineer with 10+ years' experience in materials development, coating, testing and/or processing

• Established technical expertise in ferrous and non-ferrous metals to include corrosion prevention, coatings, heat treating, hardening, and/or other developmental processes

• Demonstrated ability to employ first principles in design concept development

• Demonstrated ability to take a design from concept to production

• Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast-paced, autonomously driven atmosphere

• Experience with development of test plans such as mechanical testing, microscopy, spectroscopy, etc.

• Must possess technical and analytical thinking skills with a detail-oriented approach

• Demonstrated ability to self-manage assigned project tasks to meet schedule

• Ability to create quality, concise technical reports

• Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)

• Demonstrated ability to learn new skills

• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
