Performs R&D functions, tests, and experiments for the control and maintenance of assigned formulations and for the development of new materials for specific applications. May process inquiries requesting the development of new materials. Tests and evaluates new chemicals, fibers, powders, polymers, and processes. Plans and leads product development projects. Hybrid schedule in Palmyra, NY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs research and development on new materials and products. Performs necessary tests, investigations, and analyses necessary for effective maintenance of existing material formulations. Changes existing formulations to achieve better processing or physical characteristics and properties. Reviews with manufacturing personnel the effects of changes in formulations on processing operations and acts necessary to overcome problems.
