Material Handler - Pittsburgh, PA 15205 | Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States Job Title: Material Handler Location: 1 Covestro Circle, Pittsburgh, PA 15205 Duration: 6 months (Temp-to-Hire) Pay Rate: $18.00 - $22.00/hr on W2 Shift: 1st Shift | Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Job Summary: The Material Handler is responsible for receiving, inspecting, verifying, and distributing incoming materials and supplies. This role ensures accurate documentation and proper handling of a variety of items, supporting warehouse and supply operations. Key Responsibilities: Receive and examine items from various sources including vendors and federal installations Verify shipment accuracy against purchase orders or documentation Use measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, gauges, etc.) and reference blueprints or assembly drawings Maintain material status in automated systems Identify discrepancies and initiate rejection reports as needed Tag and track rejected items in temporary storage Expedite processing of critical or urgent materials Plan and oversee loading/unloading procedures Guide personnel during loading operations Communicate with stock control and end-users regarding material acceptability Minimum Requirements: Minimum 18 months of experience in material handling, supply, distribution, inspection, QA, or related fields High school diploma or GED required Must be able to use DSS and other automated distribution systems
