Material Handler Level II

As a Material Handler Level II, you will play a crucial role in our operations by efficiently moving materials between departments and ensuring the smooth flow of inventory in our central warehouse. Your attention to detail will ensure that every order is accurately processed.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Unloading and storing a variety of materials, while conducting thorough bin maintenance as needed.
  • Checking incoming materials for quantity and part numbers, reporting any issues such as shortages or damages.
  • Transporting materials between departments based on delivery tickets and orders.
  • Filling and delivering orders from storage and warehouse stock to designated locations.
  • Operating hand trucks and powered lift trucks to safely move and stack materials.
  • Loading outgoing shipments using hand trucks or lift trucks.
  • Performing accurate inventory transactions within our business system.
  • Conducting cycle counts when requested.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by adhering to all procedures and regulations.
  • Effectively utilizing resources to achieve job results while training others in material handling tasks.
  • Inspecting all work to ensure quality before passing it on to the next operation.
  • Documenting actions by completing necessary production and quality forms.
  • Moving, unloading, and organizing various materials using Power Industrial Trucks (PIT).

We are looking for a candidate who possesses:

  • Proven ability to safely operate pallet jacks, forklifts, stackers, and other moving equipment.
  • Strong reading and interpretation skills for Bills of Material.
  • Intermediate computer skills to handle inventory systems effectively.
  • Capability to work collaboratively in a team environment to support our manufacturing processes.
  • Valid forklift certification and knowledge of safe operation of sit-down and stand-up PITs.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • A High School diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of experience and skills.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing role, preferably in warehouse settings.
  • Hands-on experience with powered lift equipment like forklifts and stackers.
  • 3-5 years of experience operating PIT or forklift equipment.

Physical demands include:

  • Medium to heavy physical demands as classified by the US Dept of Labor.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds with assistance, frequent lifting of up to 40 pounds, and occasional carrying of up to 40 pounds over short distances.
  • Frequent pushing and pulling of loads up to 40 pounds, with occasional assistance needed for heavier items.
  • Continuous standing and walking; frequent bending, stooping, and lifting.
