Primary responsibilities include fabrication, wire rope handling, cutting, packaging, and shipment preparation.The Material Handler must exhibit the behaviors of the WireCo Business System (WBS):Teamwork - welcomes an environment of inclusiveness and healthy debate that reflects our team's strengthAccountable - celebrates our successes, learn from failures, avoid excuses, and own the outcomes of our effortsSelf-Aware - demonstrates an understanding of our strengths and needs, considering how our actions impact othersNoble Intent - acts in the interests of others, approaching our work with integrity to ensure the best outcomeDetermined - takes initiative, share ideas and find solutions to win and achieve our goalsTransparent - promotes open and honest communication and constructive feedback for clarity and truthCurious - seeks knowledge and outside input to test our way of thinking, challenging the status quoDuties & ResponsibilitiesChecks for incoming and outgoing materials, locates reels.Responsible for stripping, cutting, and handling of rope for shipment or fabrication.Operates rewinding machine, spooling and coiling various sizes of rope and strand in accordance with customer's orders.Inspects rope for quality and works with others to load and unload trucks and assembling reels.Prepares reels and coils for shipment with tags and shipping papers.Using tools like saws, lasers, and presses to cut or mold materials into desired shapes and sizes.Assembly: Joining parts through methods like welding, bolting, or riveting.Selecting and preparing materials, often metals, plastics, or composites, for the fabrication process, or coating, to enhance durability or appearanceApplying surface treatments, such as painting, polishing+ Quarterly Incentive Payments after 90-day probationary period is completeQualificationsRequired QualificationsPossess math skills and mechanical aptitudeMust have the ability to learn to use and read micrometers, tape measure, feeler gauge, and basic hand toolsMust be able to stand/walk on concrete floors for 10-12 hour shiftsMust be able to push/pull, and lift up to 50 lbsMust be able to work in extreme environmental conditions with temperatures ranging from 40-100+ degrees FahrenheitPreferred QualificationsHigh school diploma, GED certificate.Previous manufacturing experience that includes the use of measuring devices and the use of basic math and mechanical skills.Materials and Equipment Directly UsedPersonal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toed safety shoesStrand and Wire rope of various diameters and lengths, on reels or in coils, empty or unassembled reels, paper lagging strips, tags, seizing wire, blocking, thimbles.Rewinding machines, stanchions, shafts, collars, bushings, rope cutters, measuring devise, fork trucks, banding equipment, welders, various hand tools.Additional InformationEligibility:Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.An applicant must complete a satisfactory background check post-offer of employment.
