Job DescriptionMaterial HandlerLocation: Englewood, CO 80112Hours: Monday - Friday 7am - 330pmPay: $20/hrTemp to hire Company is ITAR Compliant - requiring all employees to be US Citizens or Permanent Residents Must be able to clear a background check and drug screen This position reports to the Shipping Supervisor and is responsible for performing all tasks involved with shipping, receiving, storing materials, supplies and equipment.Job DutiesShipping:Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.Determines method of shipment.Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pick-ups and track shipmentsAffixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.Inserts items into containers.Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape.Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.Receiving:Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.Routes items to departments.Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.Operates tier lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.Work with carriers to facilitate unloading, storage and organization of productsVerify incoming materials and perform visual inspection to ensure that all products are not damaged or deteriorated.Report incoming packages to appropriate department/end-user.Maintain accurate log of materials to reflect incoming and outgoing traffic of productsContact appropriate personnel whenever there are issues with the items being received.Qualifications1-2 years of experience in shipping & stockroom practices and procedures.Basic reading, writing, and communication in English.Basic knowledge of mathematics, such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.Able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.Basic computer skills and use of scales - shipping, packing, weighing equipment.A High School diploma or equivalent required.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
