Descriptive Summary The Material Handler in Countertops is responsible for specialized warehouse tasks in loading, unloading, order pulling, shipping, returns, forklift, fabrication, and counter, or may have a generalized role working in all departments.
Essential Functions - Complete tasks such as loading, unloading, sorting, picking, stocking, staging, fabrication, and transportation of goods.
- Ability to work in a warehouse management software program.
- Load and unload materials to and from designated storage areas, such as racks, shelves, or vehicles. Stack or pile materials, such as slabs & porcelain panels
- Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
- Maintains condition of work area (i.e. free of trash, product in the correct location, etc.). Follows company safety policies and procedures and encourages other associates to do the same.
- Follows company safety policies and procedures.
- May drive the truck to pick up incoming stock or deliver materials to designated locations or operate forklift or other machinery to complete tasks.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience - High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- 0-2 years of related experience.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Experience with countertop equipment or machinery preferred.
- Knowledge of machines includes but is not limited to Waterjet Saw, Edge Polishers, CNCs, and various hand tools and routers/polishers.
