Job Title: Material Handler -
Overview:
The Material Handler is responsible for the accurate and timely identification, handling, inspection, and processing of pumping equipment and parts as per shipping orders. The role includes ensuring quality, proper documentation, and storage of finished goods and materials while maintaining high standards of safety and accuracy. Hourly $19.88/hour
Key Responsibilities:
Identification & Verification:
Identify pumping equipment and parts being shipped and verify items against shipping orders.
Check that all contents match the shipping documents.
Packing & Shipping:
Weigh, wrap, scan barcodes, carton, box, or crate repairs, parcel post, express, and general orders after verification.
Sign off on department shipments and assume responsibility for accuracy.
Quality Inspection:
Perform visual inspections on all parts; reject any items showing defects.
Labeling & Documentation:
Attach necessary tags and labels.
Interpret orders using code numbers.
Process and maintain paperwork for incoming and outgoing shipments.
Receiving:
Check incoming shipments for piece counts and damage.
Deliver incoming material to appropriate in-plant destinations.
Storage & Warehousing:
Tag and store products in assigned warehouses.
Responsible for the storage and organization of all finished parts and materials.
Order Fulfillment:
Accurately pick products for domestic and export customer orders, and warehouse replenishment orders.
Assembly Area Support:
Replenish parts to assembly areas as required.
General Duties:
Complete miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
Maintain prompt, safe, and accurate work practices.
Qualifications:
Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Good organizational skills and ability to interpret order codes.
Experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing, or related field preferred.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
Basic computer and barcode scanning skills.
