Material Handler

Saint-Gobain, a global top employer, is looking for an experienced Material Handler in the Wayne, NJ plant. The position is from 10am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday. The scope includes maintaining inventory of all assigned products, picking, packing, and preparing product and necessary documentation for shipment as specified by SOPs and work instructions.

Responsibilities

Inventory Management & Documentation

  • Utilize Warehouse Management System (WMS) or ERP software to perform real-time inventory transactions, including data entry of customer paperwork, receipt travelers, and import/export documentation.
  • Receive, verify, and store incoming materials; ensure proper part numbers and counts are entered into inventory systems.
  • Maintain first-in, first-out (FIFO) inventory rotation and conduct weekly cycle counts and participate in full physical inventory audits; reconcile discrepancies and update system records.
  • Process work orders and sales orders, placing finished goods into inventory or preparing for shipment per instructions.

Administrative & Recordkeeping

  • Generate and file documentation such as sales orders, shipping memos, UPS logs, and bills of lading.
  • Maintain records in accordance with SOPs and work instructions.

Operations & Equipment Maintenance

  • Unload deliveries and move materials to designated locations.
  • Clean and maintain tools, machinery, and work areas as scheduled or needed.
  • Pull product samples for Applications Team as requested.

Teamwork & Compliance

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety.
  • Identify and report product or process non-conformities.
  • Follow safety protocols and environmental policies in line with ISO 14001 standards.
  • Participate in training and support development of others.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or managers.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent computer skills basic knowledge of excel and word.
  • Able to operate independently and as a part of a team.
  • Basic command of the English language, written and verbal.
  • Able to read and follow SOPs, labels, and instructions.
  • Mathematical abilities necessary to fulfill requirements of position.
  • Saint-Gobain Certified forklift operator.
  • Proficient in department specific machines.
  • Able to handle heavy, bulky items manually.
  • Hazardous Material Shipment Training.

The pay rate for this position is $26 per hour. This hourly pay rate offered can vary depending on location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 10% of hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures. The total annual target cash range (Hourly Pay Rate plus Bonus, annualized (40 hrs/week * 52wks)) for this position is $53,500 to $65,400. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance.

Additional pay incentives for this role include:

  • Standard Overtime (Hourly rate * 1.5)
