Pay Rate: Greenville: $48.56 an hr.

ASAP is seeking a Material Control Specialist II to join our team in Greenville, SC. This mid-level role is responsible for supporting material management activities across multiple engineering disciplines, ensuring timely procurement, expediting, logistics, and delivery of project materials to the job site.

Key Focus: Candidates should have a strong supply chain and engineering materials background to support large-scale EPC projects.

Ideal Experience: Minimum of 5 years of EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) project experience

Technical Requirement: Ability to read P&IDs and interpret engineering drawings to support accurate material take-offs and discipline-specific material control.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify material requirements and prepare detailed material take-offs from drawings when standards/methods are not fully defined.
  • Supervise a small contract or multiple small units, occasionally serving in a lead capacity.
  • Provide procurement support and expediting in alignment with project requirements.
  • Monitor material contingencies, logistics analysis, and material management functions.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Construction, Project Controls, and Project teams to develop logistics procedures and ensure timely material delivery.
  • Assist field forces during construction and track material receivables at job sites and fabrication shops.
  • Interpret P&IDs, discipline drawings, and manufacturer catalog data.
  • Interface with internal/external clients, providing clear written and verbal communications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Accredited 4-year degree (or global equivalent) and 5 years of relevant experience, OR 9 years of directly related experience if non-degreed.
  • Effective communication skills with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, and contractors.
  • Strong technical knowledge applicable to material controls.
  • Ability to apply local, state, and federal guidelines as required.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work effectively under time constraints.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Accredited degree in technology or related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of materials and their role in Material Controls.
  • Familiarity with material contingencies, logistics analysis, and material management functions.
