Job Description Summary: The Marketing Systems Product Owner will serve as a liaison between business units, technology, and support teams to facilitate product development. This role directly collaborates with engineering, QA and operations experts to represent the voice of the Marketing teams and is responsible for defining, documenting and clearly articulating requirements to the delivery team.
Essential Responsibilities:- In collaboration with product management and engineering teams, partner with the Marketing business leads from Marketing Operations, Customer Marketing, Performance Marketing, and Go to Market to create functional specifications and effectively communicate product development and delivery within the Scrum team.
- Collaborate with Marketing leadership in articulating a product roadmap, deploying new features, improvements, and bug fixes based on business feedback, priorities, and enterprise goals while managing stakeholder expectations and proactively addressing any concerns or issues.
- Research and evaluate emerging marketing technologies, particularly those involving data analytics, AI, and machine learning, to identify opportunities for strategic advantage and improved marketing outcomes
- Manage small projects that align to marketing related products and the needs of the Marketing organizations.
- Prioritize and refine backlog and work with engineering to design and build the product.
- Identify and champion opportunities to leverage data analytics and AI/ML capabilities within marketing systems to enhance targeting, personalization, automation, and performance measurement
- Translate high-level business requirements into detailed, actionable user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria; prioritize and refine the product backlog, ensuring stories are ready for development.
- Establish and monitor key performance metrics, leveraging data and analytics to provide actionable insights to product management and executives.
- Act as subject matter expert for Marketing applications and best practices, including CRM, Marketing, ecommerce, and related systems
- Conduct research and respond to questions in regards to system functionality. This function will support new development initiatives as well as bug fixes and system patches.
- Solidify requirements by analyzing documentation, hosting interviews and conducting research.
- Work with engineering to work within, refine and improve agile process
- Support, create, and sponsor projects related to improvements/enhancements in area of ownership (both technical and business related). This includes the creation of business requirements and user stories.
- Aid in and conduct user acceptance testing.
- Resolve production issues raised by product support teams.
Required Qualifications: - Minimum of 3 years working with cloud-based marketing automation applications - Hubspot experience preferred
- 5+ years of experience in product management or product ownership, with a strong focus on marketing technology or digital marketing products.
- Experience working on or with various marketing teams, preferably in operations
- Bachelor's degree, in information services, information technology, computer science, business or related area
- Experience working in Agile development environments required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with a wide audience: IT, development, product management, operations, account support, vendors/partners, customers and management
Preferred Qualifications:Previous knowledge of CRM, Marketing, Customer insight and ecommerce systems - Salesforce CRM, Hubspot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud preferred
- Experience working in the education industry
- Business analysis or project management experience
- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Looker
- Curiosity and a willingness to stay updated on emerging AI trends and technologies relevant to marketing.

The gross salary range for this role is $120,000 - $130,000.
