JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

The Marketing Content Manager serves as Visit Franklin's primary writer and owned content developer on the Marketing team. The Marketing Content Manager is responsible for the sourcing, curation, and development of Visit Franklin's brand-aligned content across departments and across a variety of mediums. This role is integral to the success of the marketing team and will be responsible for translating Visit Franklin's voice and brand into engaging content. This position will also assist with public relations efforts, focusing on both national and local media efforts.

• Serve as an in-house content developer and manager, unifying owned media content across departments and overseeing a content calendar.
• Collaborate across departments on a variety of innovative marketing content projects that serve the entire bureau across departments, including writing for collateral pieces, newsletters, web, and sales platforms.
• Provide Public Relations support, including pitching and pitch follow-up, clipping, local PR efforts, assisting with journalist familiarization tours, reporting, and PR platform updates.
• Meet with tourism partners regularly to proactively seek out stories from across Williamson County to share with leisure and group visitors.
• Manage videography and photography projects and vendors within the context of an annual content plan.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Oversees a variety of vendors, including guest writers, photographers, and videographers.
• This job operates in a professional, open-office environment in downtown Franklin, Tennessee.

Physical Demands

• The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to lift and/or transport/carry up to 25 lbs. and navigate stairs daily.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

• This is a full-time position, and typical hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a hybrid option available after three months of employment.

Travel Required

• This position has the opportunity to travel for industry and professional-development conferences two (2) times per year.

Required Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, advertising, journalism, or related field from an accredited college or university
• 2 + years writing experience and content development for a variety of mediums
• Knowledge of AP Style

Preferred Education & Experience

• Experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Tourism/hospitality experience
