About Alliance for a Viable Future

Alliance for a Viable Future (AVF) is a relationship-driven, bioregional leadership organization rooted in the Berkshires and expanding throughout the Northeast. Our mission is to cultivate a network of social impact leaders committed to regenerating the systems that sustain life—through place-based leadership, whole-systems thinking, and deep listening. We are not just marketing a program—we are building a movement of community-centered, heart-forward change-makers.

Our flagship offering is the AVF Leadership Cohort, a yearlong journey of mentorship, peer leadership circles, and systems-change work designed for organizational leaders, visionaries, and community builders. Learn more: www.allianceforaviablefuture.org/cohort

About the Role

We're seeking a Marketing & Communications Manager to co-create and implement a layered outreach strategy for the 2026 AVF Leadership Cohort. This is a hands-on, collaborative role for someone who can take initiative, work closely with the Executive Director, and bring fresh energy to both strategy and execution.

The position begins with a 3-month trial period (September–November 2025) focused on marketing and enrollment for the AVF Leadership Cohort. If it's a strong fit, there is potential for the role to grow into a more significant leadership position—with expanded hours, increased compensation, and the opportunity to move into a salaried role in 2026.

Key Responsibilities
  • Co-develop and implement a multi-channel marketing plan focused on relationships, storytelling, and alignment
  • Coordinate and support direct outreach efforts, including managing and refining personal invitation lists, mailings, and follow-ups
  • Plan, promote, and manage introductory webinars and co-hosted interviews
  • Manage and grow our email newsletter, integrating thoughtful storytelling and community updates
  • Collaborate on social media posts and basic ad campaigns (e.g., FB/IG/LinkedIn)
  • Build and maintain a CRM to track conversations, leads, and conversions
  • Research and assist in the purchase of clean B2B lists for outreach to nonprofits and mission-based businesses
  • Engage potential partners and organizational allies, coordinating speaking opportunities and email collaborations
  • Support long-term enrollment tracking, funnel-building, and metrics-based evaluation
Ideal Candidate
  • Based in the Berkshires or surrounding region (Albany, Northampton, Hudson, Hartford, etc.) or deeply rooted in the Northeast bioregion
  • Brings experience in both leadership program marketing and community-based organizing
  • Skilled in CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot, Streak, Zoho), online forms, and marketing tools (Mailchimp, Canva, Zoom, etc.)
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills for crafting aligned and inspiring outreach
  • Capable of managing details, timelines, and follow-through across multiple channels
  • A strategic thinker who is also happy to roll up their sleeves and get things done
  • Values authentic relationships, deep listening, and collaborative learning
  • Familiar with regenerative culture, systems thinking, or values-aligned leadership
Compensation and Commitment
  • $25–$50/hour depending on experience
  • 10–20 hours/week with flexibility
  • Initial 3-month engagement (Sept–Nov 2025) focused on cohort enrollment
  • Potential to grow into a larger role with increased hours and a salaried position in 2026
