Job Summary:

The Market Development Manager is responsible for increasing market share and brand preference of Generac Power Systems – Mobile channel within key end markets. This role involves prospecting new business opportunities, developing targeted strategies, establishing program agreements, and driving product sales through our distribution platform.

Territory Coverage:

Pacific Northwest (Northern California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Northern Nevada, Northern Utah, parts of Montana, and Alaska.)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Identify key end market prospects and develop the Major Account sales program.
  • Plan and implement sales strategies to maximize share and margin; motivate customers to prefer Generac products.
  • Expand customer base by identifying new partners and developing opportunities.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of new Major Account opportunities; 80% new account development, 20% account management.
  • Build relationships with Major Account customers and support teams.
  • Partner with Product Managers for technical specifications and application advice.
  • Maintain sales records in CRM and provide activity updates for forecasting.
  • Work with leadership to develop growth plans for each Major Account.
  • Provide market feedback and competitive intelligence.
  • Follow up on programs to close opportunities efficiently.
  • Coordinate with the sales team to serve Major Accounts effectively.
  • Ensure overall success of relationships across all touch points.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 4 years of related field experience with rental, equipment, construction, or engineering companies.
  • Ability to travel 50-70% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in wholesale and rental industries.
  • Knowledge of OEM/Distribution models.
  • Experience in mobile, power generation, heavy equipment, or industrial equipment industries.
  • Experience with RFP processes from bid to close.
  • Ability to identify market indicators and major projects using industry tools.
Physical Demands:

Regularly talk, hear, manipulate objects, stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Frequent computer use and occasional travel required.
