Manufacturing Technicians (Day/Night Shift Openings) (Construction)

VIAVI Solutions has multiple full-time Manufacturing Technician positions available in Santa Rosa. Both Day and Night shifts are available, with night shifts offering a qualified shift differential. Hourly pay ranges from $23 to $27 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers on setup and calibration, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments. Works with engineers in conducting experiments. Some operations are in a clean room environment.
• Determines and may develop test specifications, methods, and procedures from blueprints, drawings, and diagrams.
• Tests and troubleshoots assemblies and final systems.
• Completes rework on assemblies and systems as needed based on testing results.
• Prepares technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems.
• Assists in the selection and setup of specialized test equipment.

Prerequisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

Qualifications:

• GED/High School Diploma or equivalent
• Preferred 5+ years of relevant experience
• Must have access to technology, materials, software, or hardware controlled by U.S. export laws; eligibility requires US citizenship or permanent residency.
• Possess or be able to re-certify for a government security clearance.
• Shift flexibility is required. Shifts are typically 12 hours, available between day and night, in a 24-hour facility.

Preferred Experience:

• High vacuum coating (Box/UCP)
• Operating a spectrophotometer
• Assembly with under-microscope soldering (MicroNir/metrology)
• Experience in an ISO quality environment
