Position Overview:
RTD Biosciences is seeking a skilled and organized Manufacturing Manager to oversee daily operations in our peptide production facility. This role is responsible for managing the lyophilization process, coordinating production schedules, maintaining cGMP-compliant workflows (where applicable), and ensuring high-quality standards in peptide manufacturing for research use.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage peptide manufacturing and lyophilization processes from synthesis through final packaging.
- Supervise lab technicians and manufacturing staff; provide training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure all production activities adhere to SOPs, safety protocols, and regulatory guidelines for research-grade products.
- Manage raw material inventory, supply chain coordination, and vendor relations to support uninterrupted production.
- Monitor equipment maintenance schedules, troubleshoot technical issues, and coordinate repairs or calibration.
- Review and approve production records, batch logs, and documentation to ensure traceability and accuracy.
- Collaborate with QA to ensure compliance with internal quality standards.
- Work with senior leadership to develop and improve manufacturing workflows, process efficiencies, and production capacity.
- Support readiness for audits and inspections as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field; Master's preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment, preferably in peptide synthesis or lyophilization.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a lab/manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with cGMP principles and laboratory best practices for research-only products.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to a dynamic production schedule.
- Proficiency with standard lab and manufacturing equipment; lyophilizer experience highly preferred.
This is a hands-on management role requiring time spent in a laboratory and cleanroom environment. Attention to detail and adherence to sterile techniques are critical.
