Position Summary:

The Plant Manager will be responsible for overseeing all facets of the facility's manufacturing operations. This includes managing production output, ensuring safety and compliance, optimizing processes, leading teams, and aligning operational performance with corporate goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day operations of the Cicero facility, ensuring production targets (in terms of efficiency, quality, and cost) are consistently met.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to optimize process flow, equipment layout, and space utilization.
  • Implement lean manufacturing methodologies (e.g., 5S, continuous improvement) to drive operational excellence.
  • Partner with engineering and production teams to deploy new products and refine existing systems.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (OSHA as applicable).
  • Foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and accountability through training, audits, and safety programs.
  • Manage departmental budgets, capital expenditures, and capital improvement projects.
  • Hire, train, and develop plant leadership and workforce, conduct performance evaluations and succession planning.
  • Generate and present operational metrics (KPIs) to senior leadership for strategic alignment and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience (5–10+ years) in manufacturing leadership roles, preferably in HVAC, sheet metal fabrication, or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, Microsoft Office, and production management tools.

Preferred:

  • Experience with HVAC manufacturing or sheet metal fabrication environments.
  • Prior exposure to Nailor's product lines (e.g., VAV terminals, air control devices, fan coils, etc.).
  • Experience with custom or engineered-to-order products in HVAC or industrial ventilation.

Six Sigma, Lean, or PMP certification.
