Reference #: JR2511273 As a Manufacturing IT Systems Specialist within the Aerospace front line IT (FLIT) manufacturing team, you will be a member of a team of IT professionals supporting manufacturing systems used by PPG's global Aerospace business. This is a technical role where you will work directly with functional team members and consultants to develop our core manufacturing systems and system administration in GE Proficy, Rockwell Systems, and Windows/Linux Server. PPG's aerospace business is a global business unit comprised of Transparencies, Coatings/Sealants/Packaging/Adhesives, Engineered Materials, and Chemical Management Services operating at many facilities across the globe. As a Manufacturing IT Systems Specialist, you will partner and collaborate with a team of business analysts to take functional requirements from business stakeholders, customers, internal IT teams, and external consultants leading projects and turning them into reality, participate in user acceptance testing, and provide ongoing technical support to these applications. With distinct business functions operating out of different facilities, you should be open to a moderate amount of travel up to 50% annually to support project and business objectives. This opportunity is based in the US at either our Pittsburgh, PA, Shelby, NC or Sylmar, CA offices. This is a hybrid remote/in-office role and will report to the Manager, Aerospace IT.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide analytical and technical expertise within an assigned business unit/area, usually as a member of a project team, in the analysis, design, development and implementation of business application.
  • Experience taking requirements, functional design, testing and working with business processes and developing them into a reality
  • Understanding of how IT affects an organization and ability to link it to redesigned business processes.
  • Use experiences in SOAP/REST API Deployment, Web Report Development, and Enterprise Application integrations to systems including ERP (QAD/Oracle R12), ETQ (Quality Management System), Brightly Asset Essentials (Computerized Maintenance System) and other applications as deemed necessary by the business.
  • Manage and patch a fleet of servers supporting the digitalized manufacturing environment including Windows and Linux-based servers including applications like GE Proficy, Rockwell Plant PAX, Thin Manager, and other Plant Floor Applications.
Qualifications
  • At least 4-year degree or higher in Information Systems Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Chemistry, a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 6 years of IT or related discipline experience.
  • Experience working with process control or IT infrastructure systems and teams is required.
  • Proven technical skills including application development, API's, SQL, and Enterprise Integrations between SaaS and on-premise/remote site hosted applications.
  • Experience with developing web reports using SQL and experience in UI/UX Web Development is required.
  • Must have a strong system and process orientation, including technical capabilities.
  • Track record of participation on IT project teams.
  • Possess the ability and desire to foster the development of junior team members.
  • Experience in any of the following technologies is a plus: QAD, Oracle R12, Kronos, and GE Proficy (Historian Time Series Databases, Proficy Smart Factory Plant Applications and Operations Hub).
