About the Role:

Master Power Transmission (MPT) is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead process optimization, mentor a strong engineering team, and play a critical role in shaping the future of our high-performance gear and power transmission operations.

You'll be based in Columbus, IN, managing a talented team and collaborating closely with production, quality, and executive leadership. This role is key to our growth, offering high visibility, autonomy, and clear pathways to future leadership.

What You'll Do:

• Lead and coach a team of engineers to drive manufacturing excellence
• Develop and improve machining, assembly, and CNC processes
• Oversee equipment maintenance and capital project planning
• Drive lean and continuous improvement initiatives across the plant
• Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, and Supply Chain
• Monitor KPIs (cycle time, scrap rates, yield) and use data for decision-making
• Own departmental budgeting, cost control, and operational planning
• Be present on the floor—train operators, troubleshoot equipment, and program machines

What We're Looking For:

• 5–10 years of manufacturing engineering experience, including team leadership
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred)
• Strong background in industrial power transmissions, CNC machining, or gear design
• Proficiency in process optimization, lean tools, and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent communicator who thrives in a collaborative, results-driven culture
• Someone who can take initiative, make decisions, and own their department
