Manufacturing Engineering Manager - Buffalo NY

Keller Technology Corporation, a designer and manufacturer of Special Machinery and Automation Systems with locations in Tonawanda, New York (outside Buffalo) and Charlotte, NC, is currently seeking to fill the following position for our Buffalo location:

Typical job responsibilities include:

  • Directing and coordinating personnel in the development of welding techniques, procedures, and application of welding equipment to problems involving fabrication of metals.
  • Conducting research and development investigations to develop and test new fabrication processes and procedures.
  • Improving existing or developing new welding equipment and methods.
  • Preparing technical reports as a result of research and development and preventive maintenance investigations.
  • Establishing welding procedures to guide production and welding personnel.
  • Evaluating new developments in the welding field for possible application to current welding problems or production processes.
  • Directing and coordinating technical personnel in performing inspections to ensure compliance with established welding procedures.

    • Areas of Knowledge and/or Skill:

    Strong mechanical aptitude, thorough understanding of mechanical design; knowledge of manufacturing operations; materials science, chemistry, mathematics, physics, and electricity/electronics. A strong understanding of Section VIII div. 1 ASME code for fabrication and repair of pressure vessels. A strong understanding of welding UH and UHN chambers and components. Automated welding including robotic cells.

    Educational and Experience Requirements:

    Bachelor's Degree in Welding Engineering (minimum) and a minimum of 10 years' experience as a Welding Engineer, with extensive manufacturing welding process and design experience.
