Manufacturing Engineering Manager – Cass City, MI | Walbro

Walbro is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead a key department within our production facility located in Cass City, Michigan.

This leadership role is responsible for managing complex engineering projects, driving process improvements, and overseeing manufacturing operations that support our commitment to quality and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the manufacturing engineering team, ensuring alignment with company goals and operational excellence.
• Plan and execute advanced engineering assignments, applying expert-level knowledge to improve manufacturing systems and processes.
• Oversee procurement, fabrication, testing, and implementation of equipment and production systems.
• Optimize manufacturing methods, facility layouts, and workflows to maximize efficiency and productivity.
• Utilize CAD/CAM tools and CNC equipment to support design and process enhancements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments and external suppliers for effective project execution.
• Manage administrative functions including budgeting, staffing, employee development, and quality oversight.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Master's preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong background in product design, process development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Proficiency in CAD-CAM (preferably solid modeling), and familiarity with metals such as aluminum, steel, and brass.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience managing both technical and administrative aspects of a team.
