Role Summary:

Create and analyze routing in production processes to determine accurate costing. Analyze cost data and provide recommendations for cost reduction and process improvements for consistency and transparency. Review & approve identified MED / Tooling requirements, process sequence finalization for valve components, process layouts, tool drawings, purchase requests, and SOPs. Approve control plans from suppliers.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance for troubleshooting on the shop floor and with suppliers.
  • Develop thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes, reading engineering drawings, machining, assembly, and quality control procedures.
  • Knowledge of additive manufacturing, casting/forging, and machining processes is advantageous.
  • Assess supplier capabilities.
  • Train and develop MED team members.
  • Implement continuous improvement processes (CIP).
  • Guide the team in solving issues and oversee gauge calibration operations.
  • Ensure lessons learned are incorporated into ongoing work.
  • Ensure training compliance and safety for unionized employees.
  • Complete tooling activities as per QMS objectives and ensure timely completion of RLM/ECM activities.
  • Close audit non-conformances and create continual improvements.
  • Manage timely release of PRs for tooling procurement and resolve process issues promptly.
  • Verify process layouts, tooling drawings, and PRs; approve control plans and new tooling from suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO, API, PED, EMS, and OHSAS standards.

Job Requirements:

  • 15+ years of experience with postgraduate degrees and demonstrated leadership at the top career level.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of product requirements, valve components, assembly, and testing.
  • Proficiency in machine tools, tooling documentation, reading drawings, and tolerances (GD & T).
  • Design of jigs and fixtures, operation of Turn Mill Centers, Trevisan, HMC.
  • Problem-solving skills for machining and product issues.
  • Coordination with cross-functional teams for new product development.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, with a focus on safety.
  • Knowledge of 7 QC tools, calibration standards, and measurement instruments.
  • Familiarity with safety tools, material handling, QMS, EMS, API standards.
  • Proficiency in SAP.
