Overview This role is a fun, dynamic, and innovative position within the Repligen team that produces single-use state-of-the-art single use components and innovative storage and transfer systems that optimize fluid transfer and reduces the number of connections in biopharmaceutical industry equipment. This role requires in-depth knowledge and experience of manufacturing solutions and systems as well as solves complex problems and takes on new perspectives using existing solutions. Additional requirements include the ability to integrate individual systems into complete functional machines and equipment and can work with limited to no guidance. This role will at times require the ability to support the entire Manufacturing Engineering team across the network and represents the level at which the career may stabilize for many years. ResponsibilitiesEssential Job Functions
- Actively provide leadership to the Manufacturing Engineering team in project management and highly technical, complex projects.
- Train the Manufacturing Engineering team on the tools and techniques of Lean Manufacturing and incorporate it into the culture.
- Lead the implementation of the Repligen Performance System (RPS) throughout Engineering.
- Lead the planning of current and future capital budgets.
- Stay current on Manufacturing Engineering applications and theories (considered the most knowledgeable on Manufacturing Engineering).
- Additional skills but not limited to include the ability to investigate alternatives, develop specifications, understands all applicable current safety standards, training standards as well as support writing technical documents for the scoping, implementation, and training of:
- Automation - Robotics, linear motion, cartesian motion (i.e., pick & place, measurement, load, and unload).
- Controls - vision systems, PLC, sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, relays, etc.
- Machines - Pneumatic test and flow systems, CNC, and secondary process equipment.
- Programming - Ladder Logic, industrial ethernet systems, Industry 4.0
QualificationsWork Environment The Manufacturing Engineer will be required to perform duties on a computer, in an office environment and on the production floor. The employee will be required to work closely with employees on the manufacturing floor, in other departments as well as handling/inspecting parts, fixtures, and tools. Physical Demands
