Job Description – Manufacturing Director

FSLA Status: Exempt

Reports To: Assistant Plant Manager

Direct Reports: Manufacturing and Engineering Manager(s)

Primary Function: Has responsibility for manufacturing workforce including first- and second-line supervisory subordinates and hourly. Work is of a difficult and involved nature where a high level of independent judgment and discretion are exercised.

• Trains, develops and evaluates subordinates; lead by example and demonstrate excellent coaching and empower hourly and salary team members.
• Provides assistance in analyzing and solving complex manufacturing problems.
• Assists in obtaining resources to effectively perform operations.
• Nearly constant contact with others outside the work group.
• Meets cost, schedule and quality requirements.
• Achieve labor and operating budget targets.
• Maintains Corporate and unit management control systems, budget and other information necessary to monitor performance.
• Maintains safety and good housekeeping standards; Address department Health and Safety concerns and enforce compliance with government, industry and corporate standards.
• Assists in forward planning of areas of responsibility.
• Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project; Ensure flawless introduction of new parts to production through proactive planning and cross-functional communication.
• Coordinates input from internal/external customers to better understand customer needs and/or perceptions.
• Keeps abreast of current product developments and trends in areas of expertise.
• Actively identifies new areas for learning and takes advantage of learning opportunities.
• Support Continuous Improvement and problem resolution.
• Support Foxconn Production Way through lean manufacturing practices.
• Drive root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions
• Recognize and celebrate accomplishments of team members

Required Education

• Bachelor's degree required

Required Experience

• 10+ Years experience in Manufacturing Operations
• Working knowledge/understanding of logistics
• Multiple leadership assignments with successful individual achievements or strong team-based achievements
• Previous experience with electronics/electrical background is a plus

• Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area required.
• Knowledge of computer software.
