  • Maintain a positive and respectful attitude and conduct her/himself with integrity and in a polite, professional manner treating customers and co-workers courteously and respectfully.
  • Reads and interprets specifications and lays out area for painting or blasting; examines finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Ensure timely and cost-efficient completion of projects and jobs.
  • Meet productivity goals and quality standards as set by management.
  • Estimate time, manpower, and materials required for assigned jobs.
  • Establishes a safe working environment and enforces established safety policies as outlined by company policy OSHA, state and federal laws, and EPA.
  • Safety awareness and behavior related to hazardous materials and reactions in an area.
  • Advise Plant Manager on the status of all assigned projects, potential obstacles and delays and plans to minimize impact and beat production goals.
  • Research and utilize industry production and safety best practices.
  • Commitment to the company values and adheres to all policies and procedures.
  • Determines workforce staffing to maximize efficiency and beat project estimations and deadlines.
  • Evaluate team member performance and correct as necessary.
  • Provide guidance, feedback, and coaching to direct reports. Manage performance to establish goals and provide development support.
  • Lead and develop team members.
  • Screen applicants for necessary sandblasting/painting skill level and make recommendations for hire.
  • Instruct team members on the use of equipment and tools.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly working environment.
  • Maintain and ensure the safety and care of all equipment.
  • Prepare various forms and reports for review.
  • Instructs on proper use of forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling devices.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.
Other Duties And Responsibilities
  • Communicate regularly with leadership and other departments about production processes and attend meetings as required.

  • Focus on continuously improving the quality and efficiencies of your department and frequently review with your team.
  • Organization skills and willingness to assume accountability for department performance.
  • Responsible for performing duties in a safe manner and promoting safety in accordance with Newterra's safety policies and procedures.
  • Administrative skills such as report writing, performance reviews, responding to email, form completion, etc.
  • Aid other departments, as needed.
  • Complies with Quality Management Systems in accordance Newterra's internal quality standards.
  • Responsible for completing all assigned training applicable to your position in the applicable timeframe.
  • Complete all responsibilities while ensuring adherence to Newterra's Delegation of Authority.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • AA degree in Industrial Trade or related certifications preferred.
  • 5+ years supervising experience.
  • 10 years hands on painting and sandblasting experience, preferably industrial wastewater manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Word, Excel, & Outlook.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and balance priorities.

Physical DemandsManufacturing environment with exposure to noise, chemicals, heavy equipment, and machinery. Accurate hand/eye coordination is required. Finger dexterity is required, as well as hand strength, with the ability to grasp, lift, push and pull. Work involves considerable standing, stooping, bending, or sitting for long periods of time. Must be able to climb stairs, ladders and scaffolds of varying heights and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work under pressure and interact with others on a regular basis.Work EnvironmentThis is a manufacturing environment and will be exposed to manufacturing elements such as loud noise, hazardous equipment, heat, and materials. Company safety standards must be always followed.
