Job Description

The Manufacturing Chief Engineer will provide technical leadership for all manufacturing-related engineering activities within our company. This role involves overseeing the design, development, and implementation of manufacturing processes, ensuring products are produced efficiently, cost-effectively, and to the required quality standards. The candidate will lead teams, manage projects, and collaborate with various departments to achieve manufacturing excellence. The candidate will work closely with the Director of Manufacturing and the President of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership: Providing guidance and direction to the manufacturing engineering team, setting technical standards, and ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Process Development: Designing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes, including automation, tooling, and equipment selection.
  • Cost Management: Identifying opportunities to reduce manufacturing costs, improve efficiency, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensuring products meet quality standards throughout the manufacturing process, implementing quality control measures, and addressing any quality issues.
  • Project Management: Leading and managing manufacturing-related projects, including new product launches, process improvements, and equipment upgrades.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with other departments such as product engineering, supply chain, and sales to ensure seamless product development and launch.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvement, waste reduction, and productivity enhancement using methodologies like Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
  • Team Management: Mentoring, coaching, and developing team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in manufacturing engineering, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in relevant manufacturing technologies and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience utilizing ERP software.
  • Proficient with AutoDesk software.
