The Position
The Zanjero team is comprised of top professionals with a passion for delivering strategic, high-quality, and innovative solutions for our client partners. We are seeking a like-minded Managing Water Resources Planner/Engineer to join our ranks to oversee client needs, create and deliver client solutions, mentor staff, and support the firm's strategic initiatives. This management position requires the following:
Knowledgeable: A seasoned professional within the water resources discipline with hands-on experience working with clients and the public during project planning and execution. The candidate should possess excellent problem-solving skills and strong oral and written communication abilities to effectively manage and deliver projects that exceed client expectations. Familiarity with California water resources is strongly preferred.
Project Manager: Proven experience in managing all aspects of large, multi-discipline, complex projects, collaborating with senior leaders and junior staff to provide practical solutions to complex water-related challenges. Expertise in addressing and solving issues affecting water, water purveyors, and their entitlements is essential.
Relationship-focused: Demonstrated ability to establish long-lasting relationships with clients, assisting them in solving complex engineering and water resource management challenges. The candidate should be adept at working effectively with a multidisciplinary team, applying planning skills from project analysis through to execution.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in all aspects of water resource planning and be a decisive leader who sets clear directions and expectations for staff.
With some Zanjero team members relatively new to the organization, the incumbent will ensure training materials and programs are sufficient to develop a highly skilled workforce and maintain operational continuity. Proficiency in managing multiple project budgets and a proven track record in solving technical problems are essential. Education, Experience, and Certifications
Any combination of experience and education that provides the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying, along with the specific licenses/certifications as outlined below:
Experience:
Fifteen (15) years of progressively responsible experience in water resources, five (5) of which should be in a management capacity.
Education:
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in similar fields and currently working in water resource planning and management in California or the southwestern United States.
Licenses/Certifications:
A valid California driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Zanjero's vehicle insurance policy.
Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in California is desirable and not required.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary range for this position is $150,000 – $200,000. In recognition of the value its employees deliver to the organization, Zanjero offers a generous compensation and benefits package.
