As a Managing Machine Learning Engineer (MLE), you will solve complex business problems using the latest techniques and tools to develop models that deliver tangible business value. You have industry experience with machine learning, enjoy mentoring others, and are adept at using software, algorithms, models, and deployment tools to understand and address complex issues. You think about models in terms of implementation and runtime considerations, and you are eager to own the entire model lifecycle from deployment to tuning and application deployment.

The Managing MLE will lead a team of junior and senior MLEs. At Allstate, we believe in a player/coach model where our Managing MLEs spend most of their time solving complex problems and creating business value.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, or another quantitative field; a Ph.D. is a plus.
• Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms and principles.
• Experience prompting large language models and building RAG applications.
• Ability to navigate decisions between traditional modeling and GenAI.
• Effective collaboration with product managers, engineers, and business leaders.
• Leadership experience in managing ML teams, complex projects, and mentoring data scientists.
• 5+ years in programming languages like Python, Java, or C++.
• 5+ years using frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Scikit-learn.
• Experience with NLP, computer vision, or knowledge representation to solve business problems.
• Deep learning experience is a plus.
• Cloud services experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.

Annual salary ranges from $160,000 to $235,000, based on experience and qualifications.
