My client is looking to add a Managing Director into its team in New York (flexibility on location) to originate more Real Estate M&A business - driving strategic growth, leading high-profile deals, and mentoring top talent. This is a platform that has experienced unrivalled stability despite the market volatility across the preceding years. The team has maintained a strong pipeline of transactions through its extensive network of clients while working high profile projects involving all asset classes.

About the Role

As a Managing Director, you will lead the origination and execution of complex M&A transactions that you bring in from the real estate sector—including REITs, real estate operators, developers, and institutional investors. You will work closely with senior executives, institutional clients, and internal teams to deliver strategic advisory and capital markets solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead origination of M&A transactions in the real estate sector, from initial pitch to deal close
• Manage and grow a portfolio of key client relationships
• Drive new business development through strategic networking and market insight
• Oversee deal teams and mentor junior bankers to develop future leadership
• Collaborate across investment banking, capital markets, and research teams

Qualifications

• 9+ years (with an MBA) or 12+ years (without an MBA) of investment banking experience, with a strong focus on M&A
• Proven track record originating and leading the execution of Real Estate M&A transactions (REITs, private equity real estate, etc.)
• Deep client relationships in the real estate sector
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and execution skills
• MBA or relevant advanced degree strongly preferred
