Position Summary: AKAM is seeking a dynamic and experienced Managing Director to lead a team of Property Managers while directly managing a select portfolio of residential condominium and cooperative properties. This is a player/coach role—ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in both operations and talent development. The Managing Director will be instrumental in delivering top-tier service to clients, ensuring operational excellence across their team's portfolios, and cultivating a culture of performance and accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary contact for a select portfolio of high-end residential co-ops and condos.
• Oversee building operations, budgets, capital projects, compliance, and Board relationships.
• Attend board meetings, manage vendor relationships, and ensure consistent client satisfaction.
• Act as a subject matter expert in NYC building codes, housing laws, and co-op/condo governance.

Team Leadership & Coaching (Coach):

• Supervise, mentor, and support a team of Property Managers across a broader portfolio.
• Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development.
• Implement best practices, operational protocols, and service delivery standards.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to identify staffing needs, training opportunities, and process improvements.
• Step in as needed for high-priority client matters, team transitions, or building crises.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in residential property management, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Deep knowledge of NYC cooperative and condominium operations.
• Proven track record of managing complex portfolios and building strong board relationships.
• Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to balance hands-on management with strategic oversight.
