This is a change / innovation role for a seasoned director with real technical chops to spearhead a wholesale transformation of all digital platforms. Youll be the chief tech strategist, the principal software architect, and the manager of a digital-tech team that handles front- and back-end development, dev ops and QA. Youll set the tone, identify tools and tactics, and execute to bring positive change to a venerable organization.

Step one: Cast a cold eye on the tech organization, identifying which structures and practices are working and what needs to change. Review the multiple websites, the CMS, interactive features, video, and the move toward customization. Evaluate the code, establish a new set of best practices and technical success metrics, and work with other senior leaders on an overall strategic direction, priorities and vision for the companys digital efforts, including security risk assessment and mitigation.

Hammer out innovative workflows, conduct detailed project planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term goal setting, with metrics to stay honest along the way. Stay up to date on industry trends, new technologies, and anything else that can keep the organization out in front and achieving its transformation goals.

This is your corner of the sandbox. Youve spent more than a decade in development engineering, excelling as a software architect and leader of complex teams through multiple product life cycles. Youre an expert in Agile methodology and tools including JavaScript, JQuery, CSS, HTML, Adobe Site Catalyst, Google Analytics, Twitter Analytics, Optimizely, comScore and social listening tools. Youve developed analytics strategies and have managed substantial budgets.

Youre highly motivated and understand the organizations business goals, knowing intuitively which actions will advance them. You value collaboration, seek input from diverse sources, and bring expertise to drive change and improve processes and products.

Experience with agencies or brands is acceptable, with particular interest in work for major media companies.
