Managing Director - Cybersecurity - DLA : Job Details

DLA, LLC is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Managing Director to lead cybersecurity-focused internal audit engagements. This individual will oversee teams, interface with senior stakeholders, and help shape IT governance and security strategy for our clients. The ideal candidate brings both deep technical expertise and strong leadership capabilities to drive impactful, risk-based audit solutions. Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage IT audit engagements focused on cybersecurity, cyber risk, and cyber governance across client environments.
• Develop and oversee implementation of cyber governance frameworks and ensure alignment with leading practices (e.g., ISO, NIST/CIS, COBIT, HITRUST).
• Develop and maintain client relationships.
• Supervise the development and continuous improvement of cyber policies, procedures, and controls.
• Advise on security architecture, cloud security, network security, and endpoint protection strategies.
• Lead risk assessments and drive mitigation initiatives in collaboration with executive stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards and regulatory requirements, including NIST and ISO frameworks.
• Prepare and present high-impact audit reports and findings to executive leadership and client stakeholders.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on cybersecurity posture, and risk management initiatives.
• Monitor emerging trends, threats, and technologies to continuously elevate client risk and security programs.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Accounting, or related field required; advanced degree or certification (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISC) preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in IT audit, cybersecurity, or risk management.
• Proven track record managing cybersecurity audits and implementing controls across hybrid environments (on-prem/cloud).
• Strong knowledge of information security frameworks (ISO, NIST, COBIT), risk assessment methodologies, and compliance requirements.
• Experience with enterprise tools: SIEM, EDR, PAM, Microsoft 365 Defender, Azure AD, MDM solutions.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills with ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior leaders.
• Ability to work independently in fast-paced client environments and drive projects to completion.
