Position Information

Hiring Manager :

Co-Head of Direct Lending

Department : Credit Opportunities

This role will be tasked with driving strategy for the Opportunistic Credit platform (including new funds), originating opportunities and managing and advising the team in supporting deals from acquisition to exit. This position will leverage internal expertise from the Broadly Syndicated Loans, Structured Products, Capital Markets and Direct Lending underwriting teams to evaluate and execute on investment opportunities across industries and across the capital structure.

Responsibilities
  • Co-lead a team responsible for the origination of opportunistic credit investments including secondary purchases of mis-priced, stressed and distressed middle market and broadly syndicated loans, portfolio purchases, loans to funds (NAV loans), specialty financings (such as participations in debtor-in-possession loans and rescue financings), and making equity co-investments and structured equity investments.
  • Lead and manage a team responsible for all aspects of origination.
  • Originate and source attractive deal opportunities from investment banks, private equity firms, lawyers and other intermediaries.
  • Serve as a member of the Credit Opportunities Investment Committee.
  • Develop and maintain a core set of strategic relationships to source investment opportunities.
  • Work with the Investor Partners Group to raise capital from the full range of investors and oversee the development of marketing and fundraising materials.
  • Engage in developing and educating new potential investors and serve as key senior relationship manager for select major investor partners.
Candidate Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent, plus 8 years experience as CIO, Managing Director, Portfolio Manager, Financial Analyst / Associate, Head of Risk Arbitrage / Special Situations, and related experience in investment or financial occupations, including : buy-side experience in public and private credit and equity investing; OR
  • 10 years of relevant investment or financial experience, including : buy-side experience in public and private credit and equity investing.

Compensation and Benefits

For New York Only : It is expected that the base salary range for this position will be $500,000 to $540,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as skills, experiences and qualifications for the role. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial and / or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation, sick time and parental leave) dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, the employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the Firm reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time including for reasons related to individual performance, Firm or individual department / team performance and market factors.
