Overview
ERM is seeking a Managing Consultant, Electric Transmission Routing & Siting Project Manager to support our power sector business in the Great Lakes and Northeast regions. The ideal candidate will have proven success managing electric transmission projects, leading teams, assessing environmental conditions, and preparing reports. Experience with transmission line routing/siting and permitting in the Midwest and/or Virginia is highly desired. The candidate should be based in the Midwest or East Coast.
Responsibilities
- Lead routing and siting studies, analyze data, and oversee report preparation for complex electric transmission projects.
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring scope, budget, and schedule adherence, and uphold quality standards.
- Delegate tasks and mentor junior staff.
- Prepare expert witness reports and provide testimony at hearings.
- Participate in agency meetings and public outreach events.
- Contribute to business development through proposals and client engagement.
- Collaborate effectively with ERM teams and clients.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental science, Natural Resources, Land Use Planning, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of consulting or industry experience with power projects.
- Experience managing electric transmission siting projects, especially in the Midwest or Virginia.
- Strong communication, technical writing, and strategic thinking skills.
- Broad knowledge of transmission line practices and impact assessment issues.
- Effective team-building and client management skills.
- Positive attitude, collaborative spirit, and alignment with ERM's values.
- Willingness to travel up to 15%.
Additional Information
