This role will be based in Mountain View, CA. LinkedIn's approach to flexible work is centered on trust and optimized for culture, connection, clarity, and the evolving needs of our business. The work location of this role is hybrid, performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the team's needs.

The Product Application Infrastructure (PAI) organization's mission is to build reliable, efficient, and intuitive world-class tools and infrastructure that amplify productivity of our product engineers creating our suite of user-facing products. The UX Infrastructure team empowers all of R&D to build world-class user experiences with speed, quality, and delight. Responsibilities
  • Manage the performance and career development of a team of engineers, owning significant parts of infrastructure requiring design, architecture, and coding.
  • Participate with senior management in developing a long-term technology roadmap.
  • Serve as a role model and coach for engineers, emphasizing action and craftsmanship.
  • Collaborate with peers across teams to support and leverage shared technical stacks.
  • Manage teams to scale distributed applications, making architectural trade-offs, applying synchronous and asynchronous design patterns, reviewing code, and delivering with speed and quality.
  • Develop multi-tier, scalable, high-volume, reliable user-centric applications that operate 24/7.
  • Produce high-quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and regularly checked into continuous integration systems.
  • Basic Qualifications
    • BA / BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
    • 1+ year of management experience or 1+ year of staff-level engineering with management training.
    • 5+ years of industry experience in software design, development, and large-scale engineering.
    • MS or PhD in Computer Science or related field.
    • 2+ years of hands-on software engineering/technical management experience.
    • 7+ years of experience in software design, development, and algorithms.
    • Experience leading teams that build reusable UI components, design systems, accessibility platforms, or product infrastructure.
    • Passion for creating outstanding user experiences and working closely with design teams.
    • Deep understanding of UX principles, inclusive design, and accessibility standards (WCAG, ARIA, HIG, etc.).
    • Familiarity with productivity tooling, testing infrastructure, and design-to-code workflows.
    • Strong analytical skills with experience using insights and metrics for continuous improvement.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage complex stakeholder landscapes.
    • Proven ability to operate with urgency while maintaining high engineering quality.
    • Experience in creating and executing technical strategies and roadmaps.
    • Ability to hire and retain top engineers through mentoring and career growth opportunities.

    Benefits and Compensation

    We value employee well-being and offer generous health and wellness programs, along with time off. The pay range for this role is $147,000 - $240,000, based on skills, experience, certifications, and location. Compensation may include bonuses, stock, benefits, and other incentives.
