Overview

The Manager, Remediation Customer Planning will be responsible for managing the team of project managers and project coordinators responsible for customer planning for field action remediation. This will include oversight over the team, driving operational efficiencies into the customer planning process, and building the backlog of remediation work vital for the group to meet the remediation timelines. This function is a critical component of team's ability to drive operational effectiveness and apply resources efficiently.

The role is also responsible for leading and managing a team of Remediation Schedulers within the medical device industry. They will be accountable for contacting customers, advising the customer about the field action, obtaining customer approval to deploy remediation and customer availability for the deployment, and scheduling this remediation at a time when there is resource availability. This manager will also be monitoring trends such as resource utilization, field actions, remediation pace, and capacity to help inform other business leaders to make resource decisions accordingly to ramp up or redeploy as necessary.

The BD Field Action Remediation Team, which is part of Solution Deployment, is responsible for remediating Pyxis devices on schedule per our commitments to our customers and Quality/Regulatory requirements.

Duration of Employment: This position has a three-year duration, with an anticipated end date of Sept 30, 2028

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates within Solution Deployment to determine roles, responsibilities, and staffing needs to meet field action timelines with efficient resource utilization.

  • Adheres to practices, tools and standards for communicating information to teams, peers, executive leadership, and customers.

  • Works collaboratively cross-functionally to drive quality, successful timelines and staffing plans

  • Hires, develops and leads a high performing team that demonstrates an understanding of how to work within the larger Implementation and MMS organization

  • Possesses a growth mindset, actively seeking feedback to reflect on own performance and managerial capabilities.

  • Constructively coaches and gives feedback to support others' development.

  • Applies available metrics and resources to drive the team to achieve established goals in a proactive manner on time and on budget; removes obstacles when present to ensure team success.

  • Monitors and controls expenses in alignment with budget, drives effective management of contingent worker fees

  • Takes appropriate risks and makes decisions, which may be difficult and / or unpopular, and takes accountability for outcomes.

  • Ability to manage complex and multi-faceted issues by using strong relationships both internal and external.

  • Uses internal and external trends and analyzes business, financial, operational, and technical data to achieve strategic goals and objectives, prioritizing workload when necessary.

  • Embraces and drives a culture of change through continuous improvement. Leads by example, guided by the BD Way.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  • 7 years of proven experience in a people management role, managing virtual teams and demonstrated ability to lead in a matrixed environment

  • Considerable decision-making capability, sensitivity to accuracy and timeliness, ability to train and evaluate support staff

  • Possesses excellent organizational skills with the flexibility to readily adapt to change.

  • Experience scheduling customers for project-based work

  • Demonstrated success in previous roles in driving customer satisfaction and quality.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Experience in project management, applying strong analytical, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Willing to work remotely with some travel (up to 25%)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ten or more years in a healthcare environment with technical (systems) involvement and computerized system applications.

  • Dispensing software technologies experience - Has working knowledge of a variety of software applications, including BD Medical Systems products and exposure to solution design processes.

  • Experience with integrated delivery networks/enterprise level health systems required.

  • Experience with software and/or device implementation/deployment.
