ResponsibilitiesJOB PURPOSE

The Manager, Reliability Compliance – Transmission will oversee the compliance program and be an interface with FERC, NERC, NERC Regional Entities, ISO/RTOs and other regulatory and reliability entities applicable to Pattern's transmission assets. The manager will lead efforts to monitor reliability regulations and ensure systematic preventive measures are in place to maintain compliance.

This role involves providing technical guidance to operations, engineering, IT, and other experts to support compliance with reliability regulations, including maintaining compliance with FERC Orders, NERC Standards, ISO/RTO market rules, and other relevant requirements through research, data collection, analysis, documentation, and submissions.

Key Accountabilities
  • Maintain compliance of Pattern's assets with applicable FERC Orders, NERC Standards, ISO/RTO rules, and other requirements through research, data collection, analysis, documentation, and submissions.
  • Manage and improve Pattern's transmission operations & planning compliance programs and assist with infrastructure protection compliance as needed.
  • Oversee data collection, analysis, and submission for self-certifications, data requests, audits, etc., for transmission assets.
  • Develop, analyze, maintain, and train on policies, procedures, and preventive measures to ensure adherence to compliance standards and industry best practices.
  • Prepare reports and presentation materials on compliance activities for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support personnel responsible for compliance adherence.
  • Conduct audits to assess compliance of transmission assets with internal and external standards.
  • Identify and enhance measures to meet evolving compliance requirements, including market rules and reliability standards.
  • Represent Pattern at conferences, workshops, and industry groups related to compliance.
  • Analyze electrical data to identify trends and system events for reporting and improvement.
  • Support the control room with training, data analysis, and tool development to ease compliance efforts.
  • Assist with research and development of products and services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsExperience/Qualifications/Education
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, economics, finance, or related analytical field.
Experience Requirements
  • At least 10 years of professional experience.
  • Minimum 6 years in the electrical industry.
  • At least 5 years working directly with NERC Reliability Standards for transmission operations.
  • Minimum 3 years with generator owner/operator NERC Standards.
  • At least 2 years with resource & demand balancing NERC Standards.
  • 2+ years supervising personnel in a professional environment.
Additional Requirements
  • Pass personnel risk assessment and criminal background check.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain passport.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25% domestically and internationally.
Technical Skills
  • Moderate to advanced electrical principles knowledge.
  • Strong research, writing, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel; knowledge of Adobe Acrobat PRO and MS Access is a plus.
  • NERC certification or operations experience is a plus.
  • Experience with FERC and DOE regulations is advantageous.
  • Ability to interact effectively with executives and external/internal customers.
  • Understanding of cost accounting, budgeting, and contract management.
  • Experience with renewable systems is desirable.
The starting salary range is $102,000 - $128,000 USD, with potential bonuses and comprehensive benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and more. Pattern Energy is an Equal Opportunity Employer.Additional Information
