Manager Quality Operations / Team Leader
The Manager Quality Operations / Team Leader will be responsible for planning, organizing, supporting and supervising Quality Operations personnel working with the following areas: Floor Support; Lot Release; Regulatory/GMP Inspections; Deviation investigations; Change Control, and other related compliance activities. The manager will be responsible for development and reporting of various metrics to assure that management in Operations and QO are aware of the status of compliance. The manager will be accountable for the efficiency, accuracy and service levels of unit personnel and is expected to support daily operations and budget. The manager will also be expected to initiate and lead improvement projects. The manager is expected to learn and manage other responsibilities as assigned. The manager may also be responsible for being a primary contact for the escort and facilitation of visits by outside regulatory agencies and other related GMP/ISO compliance inspectors.
Position Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Site Quality Lead, the Quality Operations Manager will oversee a staff of salary and over time eligible colleagues involved in the areas of:
- Quality Operations Specialists
- Lot release specialists
- Other related compliance activities
- Responsible for the development and report out of various metrics to ensure management in Operations & QO are aware of the status of compliance.
- Accountable for the efficiency, accuracy and service levels of unit personnel and is expected to support daily operations and budget.
- Expected to initiate & lead continuous improvement projects.
- Expected to learn and manage other responsibilities, as assigned.
Technical Skills Requirements
- Demonstrated strengths in the following capabilities: leadership, operational management, data and financial analysis, supply chain, decision-making, critical-thinking and technical skills pertaining to quality operations, negotiating, and conflict resolution.
- Strong working knowledge of the Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and current regulatory and compendial requirements.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Quality Assurance principles.
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma principles and tools.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, coupled with excellent presentation skills.
- Demonstrated record of innovation, focus on performance, change management, continuous improvement, and development/implementation of best practices.
- Track record of understanding and meeting customer and market needs.
- Proven history of effective performance management, coaching, mentoring of team members.
- Demonstrated record of achievement of objectives and proven demonstration and commitment to the Zoetis Core Beliefs.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and ability to learn Zoetis systems
- Proficiency in using ETS, Veeva Vault, SAP, Z-LIMS, and inspection systems/software is preferred.
- The position may also cross train in other QA roles as required.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a Science-related field with 7-10 years of quality operations experience.
- Two+ years supervisory experience required.
- Strong working knowledge of the company's Good Manufacturing Practices and current regulatory and compendial requirements.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills
- Demonstrated successful interaction with all levels of personnel is required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Quality Assurance principles
- Aligned with the Zoetis Core Beliefs
