About the Job:

We are currently looking to hire a Manager, QFS Co-Manufacturing! This role works closely with both internal and external partners to ensure we deliver safe, quality food from our Co-Man Suppliers. This role will also work closely with R&D, Procurement and Project leads within the organization to deliver new products in the marketplace with our Co-Man partners.

This is a hybrid position with an expectation of 3 days per week onsite in Broomfield, CO, with travel (25-50% at times).

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the relationship with Co-Mans from a Quality & Food Safety standpoint
  • Assessing and Auditing of potential new production sites in collaboration with internal partners.
  • Maintaining relationship with and auditing existing Co-Mans.
  • Mitigating risk through application of scientific principles, technical experience and employment of Quality and Food Safety Standards.
  • Troubleshoot problems with co-mans; ensure root cause / corrective actions are appropriate and are fully implemented.
  • Working on continuous improvement and providing regular feedback on performance.
  • Collaborate with internal functions including the Co-Man Operations Team, Procurement, R&D, Environmental Health and Safety, Sustainability, Regulatory, Project Management, to deliver products to the market that meet Horizon's standards.
  • Deliver Quality & Food Safety Compliance and improvement across the co-manufacturing network.
  • Stay current with all regulatory and certifying agency guidelines. Manage regulatory issues across 3PM network.
  • Documentation creation, updates and reviews in collaboration with internal partners.
  • All other duties as assigned.

The base compensation range for this position is $90,000-$100,000 commensurate with experience.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science/Food Science/Technology or similar major.
  • Five to seven years combined experience with food, ingredients, quality and manufacturing
  • Prior responsibility as QA Manager/Engineer for a food manufacturing facility
  • Experience managing external suppliers/3PMs
  • Advanced understanding of Quality & Food Safety Systems and current Food Regulations.
  • Solid understanding of plant production systems, manufacturing equipment and processing, GMP, sanitation and EHS.
  • Experience with auditing suppliers and a demonstrated ability to drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in problem solving and driving conflict resolution, including financial claims resolution.

  • Trained in SQF or FSSC (GFSI) auditing schemes.
  • Previous experience in the Dairy Industry
