Position Purpose

Develops, implements, and monitors all logistics management activities required for the timely and efficient transportation and distribution of products.

Key Responsibilities

• Develops solutions that leverage the company's volumes, systems, and partnerships while providing high levels of customer service in a cost-effective manner.
• Identifies and prioritizes logistics needs and communicates recommendations to upper management to achieve efficient product distribution.
• Provides data and recommendations on product tracking, route analysis, rerouting, costing, and usage alternatives.
• Advises IS and system users in logistics systems improvements and changes.
• Responds to Requests for Information (RFI) from potential software vendors.
• Tests vendor software packages to identify shortcomings and assesses vendors' ability to customize products to Home Depot specifications.

Reporting Structure

• Reports to Sr. Manager, Director, Sr. Director, or VP.
• Requires interpersonal skills for sensitive or controversial situations.
• Handles unstructured situations requiring original approaches.
• Considers new courses of action within broad policies and medium-term goals.
• Determines priorities and plans actions based on general assignments.

Travel and Physical Requirements

• Overnight travel less than 10%.
• Frequent standing or sitting; occasional stooping or lifting light objects.

Working Conditions

• Indoor, comfortable environment; infrequent unpleasant conditions.
• Under pressure to meet deadlines, quotas, and handle difficult situations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• Legally permitted to work in the U.S.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of work experience.

Skills and Competencies

• Excellent project management and financial analysis skills.
• Strong problem-solving and computer skills.
• Effective communication skills.
