Role context: The Site Operations Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational excellence of the manufacturing site. This role oversees Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Facilities and Maintenance, and other Site Support Functions to ensure delivery of key performance metrics in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People Engagement.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations across production, engineering, maintenance, and support teams.
- Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality medical products in compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485).
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize throughput, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.
- Own and deliver site PKIs related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People Engagement, including fostering a culture of safety and ensuring compliance with EH&S standards.
- Develop and execute site-level strategies aligned with corporate goals; collaborate with cross-functional leaders to support new product introductions and technology transfers.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team; promote accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Ensure optimal functioning of site infrastructure and equipment; oversee preventive maintenance programs and capital projects.
- Serve as primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders; represent the site in audits, customer visits, and corporate reviews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in medical device or regulated manufacturing environments.
- Proven track record of delivering results across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people metrics.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, problem solving, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with FDA and ISO 13485 compliance.
- Ability to lead in a matrixed organization.
- Strategic thinker with hands-on operational approach.
