Position Summary:
The University of New Mexico Gallup is one of four branch community colleges of the University of New Mexico and serves approximately 2200 students. Located in Gallup, NM, approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque, UNM-Gallup is situated in the Four Corners region and near the Navajo Nation, Zuni Pueblo, and Hopi Reservation. The city of Gallup has a population of 22,000 and the surrounding areas provide an abundance of outdoor recreational activities, various museums, and extraordinary cultural vibrancy, while maintaining a small-town feel.
The University of New Mexico has established branch colleges to serve the citizens of New Mexico and to provide the highest quality of education for students pursuing post-secondary education at different locations throughout the state. Branch colleges respond specifically to the unique needs and multicultural backgrounds of their respective communities by offering community education programs, career education including certificate and associate degree programs, and transfer programs that prepare students for upper division entry into colleges and universities.
The University of New Mexico Gallup Campus is seeking applicants for the Manager of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC). The Manager reports to the Chancellor, manages the planning, development, marketing, and operation of the branch campus Small Business Development Center, which provides local small business development assistance and support in accordance with the stated goals and objectives of the New Mexico Small Business Development Center Network and the U.S. Small Business Administration, and in adherence to relevant State and Federal legislation, regulations, and guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.
