Job Summary and Qualifications

The Nurse Manager assumes 24-hour responsibility for planning, supervising, and evaluating patient care to ensure comprehensive and continuous care for patients and families. Responsibilities include managing diverse personnel categories, applying management principles, and demonstrating interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, delegation, and teaching skills. The Nurse Manager evaluates personnel, assesses the environment, and prioritizes care outcomes.

  • Apply nursing innovations, evidence-based practices, and technology collaboratively with the director.
  • Assist in organizing unit-level process improvement teams.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changes in patient care delivery and motivate staff.
  • Work with the service director to implement unit goals aligned with organizational mission and vision.
  • Serve as a resource to staff and other units as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing school.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required; Master's preferred.
  • Valid California RN license.
  • Current BCLS certification.
  • National RN certification preferred.
  • Minimum two years in an acute care management position.
