Your Contribution
As a Manager of Logistics reporting to the Murfreesboro Plant Manager, you'll be a key member of the Plant Leadership Team. Your objective is to develop short-term and long-term strategic plans for the logistics function and drive continuous improvement through improved efficiency, cost reduction, and enhanced service delivery while achieving all elements of customer scorecard success.
This Role Is Responsible To
- Develop the vision/roadmap to support the long-term strategy and future growth of the organization while managing the day-to-day logistics operations.
- Manage all logistics operations to ensure outstanding supplier relationships while achieving all elements of our customer scorecard and plant KPIs.
- Collaborate with vendors to develop a robust supply chain and manage EDI requirements.
- Manage procurement of raw materials, balance physical inventory, and prevent line shutdowns.
- Implement best practices related to forecasting and inventory control.
- Manage warehouse operations including stock management, shipping, cycle counts, SAP input/management, and warehousing concepts.
- Develop and report team measurable departmental budgets (expenses, inventory, transportation).
- Develop, implement, and sustain the 5S culture (A3, 8D, 5-Why, Kaizen, etc.).
Your Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field from an accredited university.
- 8-10 years of professional experience in Logistics within a manufacturing environment (preferably automotive); material flow experience is strongly preferred.
- Management experience covering all areas of responsibility for this role.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in strategic implementation and department optimization.
- Extensive experience working with MRP and JIT principles.
- Decisive leadership and team facilitation skills.
- Ability to define goals, metrics, and success levels for customers.
- SAP proficiency required.
- APICS Certification (CPIM) preferred.
