You will own the toolchain that powers every code commit at Delta, leading a senior squad to maintain GitLab, AWS infrastructure, and Nexus repositories, while coaching engineers and removing friction from the SDLC. You will collaborate with peer positions across IT to understand user needs and promote adoption of their products.

Responsibilities Include

• Manage platforms: GitLab EE, Nexus, AWS services (S3, RDS, PrivateLink).
• Standardize pipelines: Migrate teams to GitLab CI templates with built-in quality and security gates.
• Ensure reliability: Define SLIs/SLOs, automate failover/DR, maintain ≥99.999% availability.
• Embed security & compliance: Integrate security tools, generate audit evidence for PCI/SOX.
• Drive insights: Publish dashboards, use data to improve lead time by 20% annually.
• Lead by example: Mentor engineers, ensure blameless post-mortems lead to fixes.
• Manage vendors & budget: Coordinate with GitLab PS, Sonatype, AWS; track tooling budget.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field + 8+ years relevant experience, or Master's + 2+ years.
• 10+ years in DevOps/SRE/platform engineering, 3+ managing people.
• Hands-on with GitLab EE/CI, AWS core services, Sonatype Nexus.
• Proven migration experience from on-prem to cloud/SaaS.
• Strong Terraform/CloudFormation, Kubernetes, observability tools.
• Excellent communication skills for leadership and engineering collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in airline, travel, or regulated environments.
• Automation solutions addressing developer pain points.
• Familiarity with shift-left security tools.
