Essential Responsibilities:
- Manage the substation engineering team, including physical and protection & control (P&C) engineers, designers, and drafters.
- Oversee the design and delivery of substation projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and client specifications.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship, particularly in QA/QC, system protection, and power system analysis.
- Coordinate with clients and internal teams to track project progress, resolve issues, and meet client expectations.
- Assist with resource planning and team member allocation to meet deadlines.
- Review and approve design packages, including one-line diagrams, relay and metering designs, and physical arrangements for substations from 4.16kV to 500kV.
- Support department supervisors in training and development initiatives.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify and pursue new opportunities for department growth.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in substation design, focusing on physical and P&C engineering.
- Proficiency in substation design, including breaker upgrades, bus protection, and transformer replacement.
- Familiarity with industry standards (NERC, NEC, IEEE, NEMA).
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor engineering talent.
