Description1. Provide oversight and implement comprehensive Activities Programming for assigned facilities
Creates and distributes monthly bulletin
Manages all resident trips and sign ups
Works with residents to incorporate resident suggestions into the monthly programming.
Manages payment for all entertainers and vendors
Creates calendar for over 200 independent residents
2. Development of monthly calendar with residents input from the residents. Complete monthly wall-size calendars to include text and decoration.
3. Attend and participate in all appropriate meetings to include: multidisciplinary team meetings, department meetings, family meetings, facility in-service education programs, Performance Improvement task groups and other facility meetings as specified by Administrator and Activities Manager.
4. Monitor recreation supplies; purchase supplies from community retailers, and/or make arrangements to maintain supply inventory as needed
5. Assist with organization of community events to include: special entertainment, community outings, and theme events as needed.* Attendance at special events may be required in addition to regularly scheduled hours.
6. Maintain valid NYS driver license.
7. Assist in or conduct Therapeutic Recreation orientation with staff members and students from other disciplines. Assist all staff in carrying out scheduled programing
Manages transportation for activities and resident medical appointments, creates the transportation calendar daily and manages a fleet of drivers.
RequirementsBachelor's in therapeutic recreation/related field is preferred.
At least one year experience working with the frail elderly population required
Pay Range$21.70 - $28.35
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
