Job Description :
Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. (SIA) has an immediate need for a Manager, Nuclear Chemistry, Radiation, Protection, and Environmental (Operational Support Services). This role can be based out of anySIA office or remotely.The Manager will serve as a key member of the Nuclear Business Unit leadership team and be responsible for providing technical oversight, staff leadership, project management and staff development of a team of Nuclear Operational Support Services consultants. The Operational Support Services team includes servicing PWR and BWR Chemistry, Environmental, Emergency Preparedness, Radiation Protection, Radwaste Processing and Technologies, Auxiliary systems, Advanced reactor designs, Chemistry equipment upgrades and monitoring, etc. (and is also referred to as Chemistry Services).In this role, team leadership entails serving as both a technical and industry expert of the Operational Support Services group while driving business development for key market segments identified in collaboration with the Business Unit leadership team and the Business Unit business development team. The Managers tasks will include both the coordination and resource assignments of the team as well as functioning as a Project Manager and key technical resource for activities across the organization and the Business Unit. Responsibilities may include analysis, design, and detailing of operational support services projects and developing services and markets centered on the selected candidates unique skillset. Additionally, a key function of this role will include proposal development in order to capture new project work and identifying research and development opportunities. The Nuclear Operational Support Services Manager will develop business and markets yielding revenue for the Business Unit which could include (but is not limited to) research and development initiatives, new markets, and new services. The Manager will have staff management responsibilities including goal setting, mentoring, performance leadership as well as hiring.Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of chemists, environmentalists, engineers, analysts, and consultants in providing services for domestic and international clients
  • Perform key staff development, leadership, and mentorship for the operational services team
  • Develop priority lists of prospective clients; organize and conduct presentations to individual and groups of prospective clients
  • Manage client relationships and meet project deliverable dates
  • Collaborate with other discipline areas within SI to develop turnkey and innovative solutions for energy generation clients
  • Develop short- and long-term strategic plans for the operational services team including research and development areas, hiring, new market areas, business development, etc.
  • Manage the Operational Services Department profits & losses (P&L) and support the budget development and planning process
Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • BS in Environmental Science, Health Physics, Chemistry, Nuclear or Chemical Engineering or related field
  • PMP, MS and/or MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of professional environmental, radiological, chemistry or engineering experience, including 5+ years of project management
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in some of the following areas:
    • Knowledge and experience in managing a product line including P&L & budgeting responsibility
    • Knowledge in Nuclear Operational Support Services market including PWR Chemistry, BWR Chemistry, Auxiliary Systems, Radiation Field Control and Monitoring, Fuel Performance as it relates to chemistry influences, Emergency Preparedness, and Environmental (ODCM, RETS, REMP, Groundwater)
    • Nuclear plant licensing regulations, guides, codes, and standards, in addition to industry guidelines related to the operational services described above
    • Technical and administrative management of projects within the Chemistry Services area
  • Proficient in writing and reviewing technical reports and proposals, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 25% or more, upon request
  • Energy generation plant experience required
  • Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license or certification preferred
  • US Citizen or Permanent Residency
The expected salary range for this role is $154,400 to $188,700 annually. Exact pay will be commensurate with experience and location.Structural Integrity Associates, Inc.
